TPMS: we turn off the tyre pressure warning light

Tyre pressure warning light on? Diagnosis, TPMS sensors and programming in Patras.

TPMS tyre pressure sensor

What it is

TPMS

TPMS monitors your tyre pressure and lights up a warning on the dashboard when something is wrong.

The light can mean low pressure, but also a sensor with a dead battery (usually lasting 5 to 10 years), a faulty sensor, or sensors not registered to the car after a wheel change.

How it is done

The process

  1. We check the pressures and read the sensors
  2. We find which sensor has the problem
  3. We fit a new sensor where needed
  4. We program it and register it to the car, and the warning light goes off

Frequently asked questions

Can I drive with the warning light on?

Check the pressure first. If the tyre has lost air, do not drive far. If the pressure is correct, a sensor is most likely at fault, and it is best to come in so we can check it.

I am fitting new wheels. What about the sensors?

We move the sensors to the new wheels or fit new ones, and register them to the car.

How long does a TPMS sensor last?

Its battery usually lasts 5 to 10 years and cannot be replaced separately, so the whole sensor is replaced.
