Sandblasting, glass bead and aqua blasting
Proper preparation is half of a good coating. Blasting cleans the surface down to the metal, or gives it the finish you want.
Depending on the part and the result we want, we choose one of three methods.
How it is done
The process
- Sandblasting: removing paint and corrosion down to bare metal
- Glass bead blasting: aluminium finishing, a smooth satin surface without removing material
- Aqua blasting: with water, gentle and dust-free
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between sandblasting and glass bead blasting?
Sandblasting is more aggressive and removes paint and rust. Glass bead blasting uses glass beads, does not remove material and leaves a smooth satin finish on aluminium.
Is blasting needed before powder coating?
Yes. For the coating to bond properly and last for years, the wheel must be clean down to the metal.
Do you also blast parts other than wheels?
